The beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest

The year 2022 marks our second year home-based in Cambria, a seaside village with a population of 6500, situated halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on California’s famed and picturesque Highway 1. It’s a place you might like to call home for many reasons, among those, its vantage point of endless opportunity for exploration by bike.

If you have never visited this region, you must – and if you do, you’ll likely want to return. This is the reason we’ve chosen Cambria as our official Eroica and Nova Eroica California start – because we needed to return.

With its village charm, delicious flavours, natural wonders, and vibrant culture, the pine-studded coastal hideaway of Cambria, California, has attracted those seeking rest, recreation and renewal for over 150 years. Within minutes of Hearst Castle, Big Sur, and Paso Robles Wine Country, Cambria is known for its windswept coastline and offers the perfect destination on the Central Coast with outdoor opportunities, boutique shopping, antiques, food and wine, history, art, and romance. It’s a one of a kind place you’ll want to make time to explore before or after your Eroica or Nova Eroica ride.

Cycle Central Coast, a partner of Visit Cambria, features all of the favourite local cycling routes around Cambria. Elevation details, vista points, and ride itineraries are all laid out in a trackable map–so clip in and check out https://www.cyclecentralcoast.com/.
