L’Eroica, Giancarlo Brocci tells us, was born in a cafe. In Gaiole in Chianti, a bright child was called on to read about the feats of the great cycling champions in the newspapers to the old people. A poetic image that recalls often forgotten scenes that are luckily preserved in some genuine cases. This is already the case at Eroica Caffè Brolio and will be so, from the end of July, at Eroica Caffè Barcelona, which hosted a first special event in the past few days involving a video message from Eddy Merckx and the participation of a few hundred ‘heroes’ from all over Spain and from Italy. The Cannibal, who won more than 500 races during his career, jump-started the initiative which was the brainchild of Graciela and Miguel, who thought of L’Eroica when planning to open a place, with a magical atmosphere, especially for cyclists, a place filled with images that are special to all enthusiasts and to those who will inevitably become such. Soon Eroica Caffè Barcelona will open to the public, serving excellent food and drink but above all offering an environment designed for cyclists’ needs, starting with the members of the Ciclo Club Eroica, who will enjoy a special welcome and have their own dedicated areas and services.
Eroica Caffè Barcelona is located in the Eixample neighbourhood, just a short cycle from the Rambla. It consists of 500 sqm on two floors.
Pass by Eroica Caffè Barcelona for a visit to a really unique place and taste a good Italian coffee prepared with a Faema machine, the same Faema that is synonymous with many excellent victories and successes in the cycling world.
