The beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest

SHORT ROUTE FUJI 80

Eroica Japan proudly recommends its new course, "Fuji 80," a challenging 80 km route that embodies the spirit of Eroica even in its shorter length. Starting from the Amagi-Yugashima Hot Springs area, where Nobel Prize in Literature Yasunari Kawabata wrote "Izu no Odoriko”(The Dancing Girl of Izu), riders will ascend gentle hills towards the dynamic mountain range of the Nishi-Izu Skyline. The highlight is the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji along the same Nishi-Izu Skyline as the Samurai and Odoriko routes. The dynamic scenery of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay will strongly resonate with the hearts of cyclists. The latter part of the course offers a leisurely cycling experience along the beautiful coastline of Numazu. While enjoying the picturesque fishing villages of old Japan, riders can savor the local cuisine of Izu. This route is a condensed digest of the charm of the Izu Peninsula, woven together by the mountains and the sea.

On the preceding day, May 11th, there will be the Eroica Friend Ride on the same route, open to all types of bicycles, including modern bikes. Beginners who want to experience the essence of Eroica are also encouraged to participate.
