All participants are obliged to read these Rules & Regulations carefully before registering for NOVA Eroica Family.
ART. 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT
NOVA Eroica Family will take place on Saturday 25 April 2020 in Buonconvento, Siena, Italy.
NOVA Eroica Family is a leisure ride that takes places mostly on white gravel roads.
In the current Regulations, NOVA Eroica Family will be referred to as the Event.
The Event includes two separate routes, the Mini-ride and Leisure ride.
ART. 2 – BICYCLES
Nova Eroica Family is a leisure ride in which ROAD RACING, CYCLOCROSS, GRAVEL and HYBRID BICYCLES in carbon, steel, titanium and aluminium may be used. MTBs are not admitted, except for children under 18. Electric bikes may be used.
ART. 3 – ROUTES
• Mini-ride 14 km
• Leisure ride 27 km
ART 4 – STARTING TIMES
Starting times will be as follows:
• Mini-ride 14 km, start at 11:00;
• Leisure ride 27 km, start at 11:00.
Routes will be signposted but each rider is expected to use the "Road Book". The maps and GPS routes may be consulted and downloaded from the Routes page on the www.novaeroica.it website.
ART. 5 – PARTICIPATION AND MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
NOVA Eroica Family is open to anybody of either sex who is over 6 years of age.
In 2020, in accordance with Italian law, all cyclists must be members of a recognised club; therefore, those who register for NOVA Eroica Family will have the fee for “A.C.S.I. membership” added to their registration. A.C.S.I. membership includes daily insurance cover.
Minors aged 6 to 18, may participate only if authorized by a parent or legal guardian. The authorization form can be found at the following link and must be provided when collecting the race pack.
A medical certificate is not necessary for those participating in Nova Eroica Family.
An approved rigid helmet must be worn for the duration of the event. Cyclists must obey the rules of the road.
ART. 6 – REGISTRATION METHODS AND FEE
Register on-line on the www.novaeroica.it website.
Participants must register in the “MY EROICA” system. Users choose a username and password with which to access their “MY EROICA” and register. Individual or group registration is possible.
Registration will open on 9 March 2020 at 09:00 (Rome time), as follows:
• FAST Registration: €20.00 (available until 23 April 2020);
• LAST MINUTE Registration: €25.00 (available online and in Buonconvento, on 24 and 25 April 2020);
• KIDS Registration: €5 for kids aged 6 to 13
•Registration for NOVA EROICA FAMILY for those who have already registered for NOVA EROICA: €5
Parents (or legal guardians) or those accompanying minors who are registered to participate in NOVA Eroica Family on 26 April, may register for NOVA Eroica Family at a cost of €5 but will not have the right to collect the “Race Pack”. They must, however, collect the race envelope so as to be included in the list of participants and be covered by insurance. They will be entitled to a snack and prize at the finish line.
The FAST, LAST MINUTE and KIDS registration fee includes:
• RACE PACK with event gifts and souvenirs;
• RACE NUMBER to be attached to your jersey and bicycle;
• ROAD BOOK which will be stamped at the checkpoints;
• A SNACK along the route;
• PRIZE at the finish line;
• SHOWERS at the finish line.
ART. 7 – COLLECTION OF RACE PACK and NUMBER
At NOVA Eroica Family, RACE PACKS and NUMBERS will be distributed before the event, at the following times:
• Friday 24 April 2020 dalle 17:00 alle 19:00;
• Sabato 25 April 2020 dalle 09:00 alle 10:30.
ART. 8 – RESPECT THE RULES OF THE ROAD
NOVA Eroica Family is a leisure ride on asphalt and white gravel roads; the whole route will be open to traffic for the entire duration of the event, and it is therefore obligatory that all participants respect the Rules of the Road. It is also mandatory to have a repair kit for punctures and breakdowns.
ART. 9 – TIME LIMITS, ROUTE CLOSURE and MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The time limit within which the routes must be completed has been set at 15:00.
No type of medical assistance will be provided, apart from S.O.S. calls for medical emergencies. Call the emergency number +39 339/1129980.
Mechanical assistance will not be provided. Assistance by private vehicles following the event is not permitted.
ART. 10 – FOOD STOPS, CHECKPOINTS AND FINISH OF LEISURE ROUTES
One Eroica FOOD STOP will be provided along the route, offering drinks and sweet and savoury food in authentic Eroica style;
Opening and closing times of the food stop and checkpoints:
• BUONCONVENTO: CHECKPOINT from 10:30 to 11:00;
• BUONCONVENTO: START at 11:00;
• VILLE PETRONI – CHECKPOINT opens 11:15;
• BIBBIANO – FOOD STOP and CHECKPOINT – open from 12:00 to 14:30;
• BUONCONVENTO: FINISH LINE CHECKPOINT closes at 15:00.
ART. 11 – CHECKPOINT STAMPS
Checkpoint stamps are the only proof of the route undertaken. The Road Book will be stamped at the start, along the route and at the finish line.
ART. 12 – PRIZES
Participants who complete NOVA Eroica Family will receive a prize at the finish.
ART. 13 – INFORMATION
The event is organised by Eroica Italia SSD, Via Giacomo Matteotti, 13 - 53024 Montalcino (Siena), under the aegis of A.C.S.I. (Association of Italian Sport’s Centres), a sport’s promotion body recognised by CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee).

ART. 14 – VARIATIONS
The Organisation reserves the right to make changes to the regulations at any time. The www.novaeroica.it (ita) www.novaeroica.com (en) websites are the only official source of information regarding the event. Therefore, all official communications will be made exclusively through these channels.
ART. 15 – OTHER NORMS
For any issues that are not covered by the current regulations, the organisers will apply the 2019 A.C.S.I. rules for leisure and amateur cycling events.
ART. 16 – APPROVAL, CONSENT, AUTHORISATION, ETC.
When requesting to participate in NOVA Eroica Family by any of the methods provided for by the current regulations, each participant, from the moment of registration:
• declares that he/she has read and accepted the current Regulations in every part;
• guarantees his/her own behaviour during and after the event;
• declares that he/she is in good physical health and that he/she has delivered a valid medical certificate to the Organisation, having undergone a medical examination for the practice of competitive or leisure cycling, thus giving the Organisation the utmost leverage in the event of any damages resulting from his/her participation in the event;
• expresses consent to the use of his/her personal information, including for commercial use, as provided for under Italian privacy law no. 196 dated 30/06/2003, and European Union Regulation 2017/679 (GDPR/18);
• gives the organisers the most ample consent to use, according to the law, including for profit, any video or photographic images taken during the days of the event, giving the organisation the right to transfer such images to third parties.
Said authorisation, regarding the use of one’s own image, is to be considered permanent and without any territorial limits anywhere in the world. Images may be used in various publications and filmed material, including but not limited to promotional and/or advertising material produced on any medium. The Organisation may, furthermore, transfer to third parties and to its own institutional and commercial partners, the usage rights covered by this agreement.
The Organisation declines any responsibility, either direct or on the part of its collaborators, for any accident or damage to people or property, that may arise before, during and after the event or as a result of the same.
Moreover, upon signature of the registration form, participants self-certify the non-existence of present or past sporting, civil and/or penal sentences, even if already served, related to doping issues and declare that they have never taken – and will never take – substances included in the antidoping list of the World Antidoping Agency (WADA) – http://list.wada-ama.org/prohibited-all-times/prohibited-substances/. False certifications are punishable by law.
Should a participant be found positive in an antidoping check during NOVA Eroica Family, or if positivity is proven during other events within six (6) months of the event, the participant will owe the sum of €50,000.00 (fifty thousand Euro/00) to the Organising Committee of NOVA Eroica, in damages to the image of the event.
Any amounts received by the Organising Committee, arising from such damages, will be donated entirely to youth cycling activities.
ART. 17 – PROCESSING AND REGISTRATION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The processing and registration of personal information will be carried out by the following two companies:
