The beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest

Eroica Montalcino will be a stage of the Italian National Tour of Pediatric Palliative Care

The "Italian National Tour of Pediatric Palliative Care" is a nationwide communication campaign linked to regional initiatives of a recreational, cultural, scientific, and sporting nature, aimed at promoting awareness of this essential mode of care.

The idea, born within a community of over 200 volunteers, predominantly socio-healthcare professionals, adherents to the informal network "Innamorati delle CPP" (Lovers of Pediatric Palliative Care), is coordinated by the Maruzza ETS Foundation.

This year, the Tour has reached its third edition, and the guiding theme is represented by the importance of working together to best meet the needs of these children and their families.

This year, the Tour is in its third edition and for the third time can count on the support of Eroica, which has always provided spaces and logistical support in the previous editions.

This combination has strong shared meanings. In some ways, Eroica represents the metaphor of the daily life of families with children with complex clinical needs.

Cycling the Eroica routes, tough and challenging, with the awareness of relying only on one's own strength, puts physical and mental endurance to the test. A fatigue that only the goal of reaching the finish line justifies.

Similarly, these families, subjected to significant psychological and caregiving burdens, find in their children a strong motivation to move forward, not to give up in the face of the difficulties that arise, and to face them with all the tenacity that these "heroic" parents know how to express.

The team of the Italian National Tour of Pediatric Palliative Care awaits cyclists and their families at the stand located near Piazza del Popolo in Montalcino on Saturday and Sunday.
