MAPEI FRIEND RIDE 80 12-APR
The "MAPEI Friend Ride," scheduled for April 12, 2025, is an exciting event where participants can use any type of bike, including modern bicycles and e-bikes. It follows the "FUJI80," the Short 1 route proudly recommended by Eroica Japan. Even though it's a short course, this 80km route offers a challenging and fulfilling Eroica-like experience. After the start, riders will cycle along the Kano River Cycling Road, delve deep into the mountains of Amagi, and take a break at Yoshina Onsen "To-fuya RS," known as the oldest hot spring in Izu. From there, they will aim for the dynamic mountain ridges of the West Izu Skyline.
The highlight, as with the Samurai and Odoriko routes, is the stunning view of Mount Fuji from the West Izu Skyline. The sacred Mount Fuji, the newly introduced charm of Izu SAKURA, and the spectacular scenery of Suruga Bay will profoundly move the hearts of the riders. This condensed route allows those without an Eroica-compliant bike to fully enjoy the essence of Eroica and the beauty of the Izu Peninsula.
After the ride, participants can look forward to the Eroica Japan Parade (held at 15:30 at the Kano River Kamishima Park, "Kawa no Eki Izu Jo-yama" ) and the evening festival "CIAO EROICA" (starting at 18:00), providing a wonderful opportunity to interact with Eroica riders. It is also the perfect warm-up for riders participating in the Eroica main event.
