The beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest

NOVA Eroica Family is a leisure ride for children and families that includes sections on white gravel roads. Entries for € 20 will be available for purchase on the spot in Buonconvento on 26 and 27 April 2019.

 

ART. 1 – DATE and PLACE

NOVA Eroica Family will take place on Saturday 27 April 2019 in Buonconvento, Siena, Italy.

 

ART. 2 – ROUTES and START

14 km – NOVA Eroica mini-ride

27 km – NOVA Eroica leisure ride

 

Starting times will be as follows:

NOVA Eroica 14 km mini-ride: start at 15:00;

NOVA Eroica 27 km leisure ride: start at 15:00.

 

Routes will be signposted but each rider is expected to use the "Road Book" and "Eroica map". The maps and GPS routes may be consulted and downloaded from the Routes page on the www.novaeroica.itwebsite. 

 

ART. 3 – PARTICIPATION AND MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

NOVA Eroica Family is open to anybody of either sex who is over 6 years of age.

 

In 2019, according to Italian law, all leisure cyclists must be members of a recognised club, therefore those who are not club members at the time of registration will have the fee for “A.C.S.I. membership” included in the NOVA Eroica Family registration. A.C.S.I. membership includes daily insurance cover for NOVA Eroica Family. organised in Italy by Eroica Italia S.S.D. a r.l.

 

The A.C.S.I. membership card and daily insurance cover can be collected together with the race pack in Buonconvento (Siena) on 26 and 27 April 2019, as indicated in art. 9 of the current regulations. 

 

Minors aged 6 to 18, may participate only if authorized by a parent or legal guardian. The authorization form can be found at the following linkand must be provided when collecting the race pack.

 

A medical certificate is not necessary for those participating in Nova Eroica Family.

 

An approved rigid helmet must be worn for the duration of the event. Leisure cyclists must obey the rules of the road.

 

ART. 4 - REGISTRATION METHODS AND FEE 

It is possible to register directly in Buonconvento on 26 and 27 April 2019. Participants must complete the form provided by the organisers and pay the registration fee.

 

The fee is €20.00 for adults and children over the age of 14. Children aged 6 to 13 are free of charge.

 

Parents (or legal guardians) or those accompanying minors who are registered to participate in NOVA Eroica Family on 28 April, may register for NOVA Eroica Family free of charge but will not have the right to a “mini race pack”.

  

The registration fee includes:

MINI RACE PACK with event gifts and souvenirs;

RACE NUMBER to be attached to your jersey and bicycle; 

· ROAD BOOK which will be stamped at the checkpoints; 

EROICA MAP with details of the routes, food stops and checkpoints; 

FOOD STOPS; 

PRIZE at the finish line; 

SNACK at the end of the event; 

SHOWERS at the finish line. 

 

ART. 5 – CRITERIA REGARDNG BICYCLES

Nova Eroica Family is a leisure ride in which ROAD RACING, CYCLOCROSS and GRAVEL BICYCLES in carbon, steel, titanium and alluminium may participate. Only drop bar road racing bicycles mat be used; MTB are not admitted.

 

Children aged 7 to 14 may use any type of bicycle.

 

ART. 6 – RESPECT THE RULES OF THE ROAD

NOVA Eroica Family is a leisure ride on asphalt and white gravel roads; the whole route will be open to traffic for the entire duration of the event, and it is therefore obligatory that all participants respect the Rules of the Road. It is also mandatory to have a repair kit for punctures and breakdowns.

 

ART. 7 – COLLECTION OF RACE NUMBER 

At NOVA Eroica Family, RACE PACKS and NUMBERS will be distributed before the event, at the following times:

Friday 26 April 2019 dalle 17:00 alle 19:00;

Sabato 27 April 2019 dalle 09:00 alle 14:30;

 

ART. 8 – TIME LIMITS, ROUTE CLOSURE and MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

The time limit within which the routes must be completed has been set at 18:00.

No type of medical assistance will be provided, apart from S.O.S. calls for medical emergencies. Call the emergency number +39 339/1129980. 

Mechanical assistance will not be provided. Assistance by private vehicles following the event is not permitted.

 

ART. 9 – FOOD STOPS, CHECKPOINTS AND FINISH OF LEISURE ROUTES

One Eroica FOOD STOP (marked R on the EROICA MAP) will be provided along the route, offering drinks and sweet and savoury food in authentic Eroica style;

 

Opening and closing times of food stops and checkpoints:

BUONCONVENTO: CHECKPOINT and START from 15:00;

BIBBIANO - km 11,2 FOOD STOP and CHECKPOINT – open from 15:20 to 17:00;

ABBADIA ARDENGA - km 19,200, CHECKPOINT – open from 16:00 to 17:30;

BUONCONVENTO: FINISH LINE CHECKPOINT closes at 18:00.

   

ART. 10 – CHECKPOINT STAMPS

Checkpoint stamps are the only proof of the route undertaken. The Road Book will be stamped at the start, along the route and at the finish line. There is just one Road Book for all routes.

 

ART. 11 – PRIZES

Participants who complete NOVA Eroica Family will receive a prize at the finish. 

 

ART. 12 – INFORMATION

The event is organised by Eroica Italia SSD, Via Giacomo Matteotti, 13 - 53024 Montalcino (Siena), under the aegis of A.C.S.I. (Association of Italian Sport’s Centres), a sport’s promotion body recognised by CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee).

ART. 13 – VARIATIONS

The Organisation reserves the right to make changes to the regulations at any time. The www.novaeroica.it(ita) www.novaeroica.com(en) websites are the only official source of information regarding the event. Therefore, all official communications will be made exclusively through these channels.

 

ART. 14 – OTHER NORMS 

For any issues that are not covered by the current regulations, the organisers will apply the 2019 A.C.S.I. rules for leisure and amateur cycling events.  

 

ART. 15 – APPROVAL, CONSENT, AUTHORISATION, ETC.

When requesting to participate in NOVA Eroica Family by any of the methods provided for by the current regulations, each participant, from the moment of registration:

· declares that he/she has read and accepted the current Regulations in every part;

· guarantees his/her own behaviour during and after the event;

· declares that he/she is in good physical health and that he/she has delivered a valid medical certificate to the Organisation, having undergone a medical examination for the practice of competitive or leisure cycling, thus giving the Organisation the utmost leverage in the event of any damages resulting from his/her participation in the event;

expresses consent to the use of his/her personal information, including for commercial use, as provided for under Italianprivacy law no. 196 dated 30/06/2003,and European UnionRegulation2017/679 (GDPR/18);

· gives the organisers the most ample consent to use, according to the law, including for profit, any video or photographic images taken during the days of the event, giving the organisation the right to transfer such images to third parties.

 

Said authorisation, regarding the use of one’s own image, is to be considered permanent and without any territorial limits anywhere in the world. Images may be used in various publications and filmed material, including but not limited to promotional and/or advertising material produced on any medium. The Organisation may, furthermore, transfer to third parties and to its own institutional and commercial partners, the usage rights covered by this agreement.

The Organisation declines any responsibility, either direct or on the part of its collaborators, for any accident or damage to people or property, that may arise before, during and after the event or as a result of the same. 

 

Moreover, upon signature of the registration form, participants self-certify the non-existence of present or past sporting, civil and/or penal sentences, even if already served, related to doping issues and declare that they have never taken – and will never take – substances included in the antidoping list of the World Antidoping Agency (WADA) – http://list.wada-ama.org/prohibited-all-times/prohibited-substances/. False certifications are punishable by law. 

 

Should a participant be found positive in an antidoping check during NOVA Eroica Family, or if positivity is proven during other events within six (6) months of the event, the participant will owe the sum of €50,000.00 (fifty thousand Euro/00) to the Organising Committee of NOVA Eroica, in damages to the image of the event.  

Any amounts received by the Organising Committee, arising from such damages, will be donated entirely to youth cycling activities.
