Food and wine hikes through the history, landscapes, and flavors of Chianti.
With the Festival de L’Eroica comes the return of EROICI A PIEDI, the activity organized by Radici in Chianti that combines walking, culture, and gastronomy in a truly unique setting.
The experience
Thanks to the free shuttle service provided by the Municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, participants will reach the Avamposto di Coltibuono, the starting point of the hike. From there, guided by the Italian Hiking Federation and expert environmental and cultural guides, the walk will lead to the magnificent Abbey of San Lorenzo a Coltibuono for an unforgettable visit blending history, art, and nature.
The route continues with a convivial stop: local cured meats and cheeses paired with the wines of the historic Coltibuono winery, in a stunning landscape that will stay in your memory. The journey then proceeds along the Chianti valley back to Gaiole, with a final sweet treat—cantuccini and vinsanto—before diving once more into the festive atmosphere.
