Proraso Barbershop and the Beard & Moustache Contest: style is a matter of tradition
In the beating heart of the Eroica Montalcino 2025 Festival, among the scent of vintage leather saddles and the soft rattle of steel frames, one of the most eagerly awaited events returns: the PRORASO Barbershop in Piazza del Popolo, a space that has always been the stage for stories, shaves, and true heroic spirit.
As tradition dictates, the barbershop will be open throughout the Festival to welcome heroic participants with beards and moustaches who wish to care for their vintage look with a traditional grooming session — the perfect preparation for the legendary “Beard & Moustache Contest.”
At the helm of the barbershop, you’ll find Alessio & Stefania: Alessio, affectionately called the "Picasso of the beard", will welcome you into an original vintage barber’s chair to sculpt moustaches and beards in flawless retro style. Stefania, the queen of vintage hairdos, will create braids and old-fashioned hairstyles for all the heroic ladies — because every detail, as we know, makes the difference.
The “Beard & Moustache Contest”
The Beard & Moustache Contest is much more than an aesthetic competition: it’s a truly heroic ritual, where participants showcase personal and creative styles inspired by the golden age of epic cycling. Competitors will present beards and moustaches matched to their outfits and bicycles, offering a unique and unrepeatable interpretation of the Eroica spirit.
